You may have noticed that Amazon has been adding books to their Kindle Unlimited plan.
That’s because of a new program called Kindle Unlimited, which offers authors the chance to sell their books on the company’s site for a flat rate of $5 per sale.
The plan, which Amazon has said will last for six months, is not only great for authors but also great for booksellers, who are getting a way to keep their books around for a bit longer without having to deal with a high shipping rate or worry about losing the book to other bookstores.
You may think that selling books on Amazon would only make Amazon feel better, but in truth, Amazon is still trying to do away with some of the things that made it hard to make money on Amazon back in the day.
Now, Amazon has announced that they are going to make Kindle Unlimited a permanent feature, with an option for people to pay $5 a sale to continue their books.
The idea is to give people another avenue to make a living on Amazon, which is why Amazon has taken a long-term approach to the program.
This will allow people to continue to make their books available to Amazon users on a daily basis, rather than just monthly, which was the norm before the Kindle Unlimited program began.
“We know that books are a great source of income for writers and for their readers,” Amazon said in a press release announcing the change.
“But for authors, the opportunity to sell books on their own site has been a great success and has enabled us to help thousands of writers earn a little more money per month on the Kindle platform.”
In fact, Amazon said that the number of bookseller accounts on its platform increased from 8.5 million in December to 11.5 billion in December, and it expects to continue growing that number in the coming years.
That said, there are a couple of downsides to Kindle Unlimited that the program will have to deal.
First, there is the issue of shipping.
Currently, Kindle Unlimited is only available for people who have an Amazon Prime membership, and only in select markets, including the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, and Canada.
Second, the program does not allow for long-distance sales.
If you’re in a country that doesn’t allow for online book sales, Amazon says that the books can still be sold on the bookshelves of a store or online.
Amazon’s new Kindle Unlimited service will only be available to users who have Prime membership.
“We’re thrilled to be expanding our offering to millions of writers,” Amazon President Jeff Bezos said in the press release.
“It’s a great opportunity for people all over the world to share their works with a wider audience.
The opportunity to offer their books for sale on Kindle Unlimited for the first time is a great one for authors and readers alike.
With our partnership with the creators of ‘Outlander,’ this new program will allow us to offer millions of books and millions of authors the opportunity for long term sales with Amazon.”
